detex – CO detection for spray towers
The detex early fire detection system is used to detect thermal decomposition processes in the spray drying process. The aim is to detect a possible event at an early stage, before it becomes a potential hazard to the process or, in the worst case, before the production plant breaks down.
To meet these requirements, our Detex is equipped with a two-channel analysis module. This offers the advantage that both the absolute measured value of the exhaust air and the absolute measured value of the supply air are available at all times. This ensures that disruptive CO sources outside the process are detected at an early stage. The intelligent control system ensures that these disturbing influences are eliminated during alarm evaluation.
To ensure the longest possible trouble-free and maintenance-free operating time, the Detex is equipped with state-of-the-art probe technology for sample gas extraction. The exhaust air probe meets the high hygienic requirements in the food industry through the selection of the filter material, the design as an in-line filter and the use of a special mounting flange. Due to many years of experience of our process engineering department, only selected components are used for sample gas conditioning. These are characterized on the one hand by their long service life and on the other hand by their rapid availability.
A major challenge for early fire detection is safe and reliable detection during continuous operation of a production plant. In the Detex, an interval check of the analyzer is specifically provided for this purpose. Not only is a system check performed at the beginning of a drying period, but the system repeats this check at specified intervals.
Modern drying systems often have the possibility to dry different products. Fixed product-dependent parameters are set on the drying system by a simple recipe changeover. The synchronicity of the measured value recording in the early fire detection is usually set to one main product, so that a change of product can lead to a shift in the gas running times (supply air / exhaust air). For this reason, the Detex includes a modern measured value recording and evaluation, which is able to use the shift and ensure a safe alarm evaluation without delay.
The design of the Detex early fire detection system is compact and easy to maintain. The decisive factor for the use of “standard” control cabinets is the feedback from our customers coupled with our many years of experience in control cabinet construction. For the evaluation of the measured values, Detex is supported by a modern PLC and a touch panel in the on-site control cabinet. The use of a UPS system is of course included in the overall package.
The vast experience of our own programmers comes into full play in the creation and support of the software. All parameters and limit values can be set individually for each application and stored as a recipe.
